Dental Implants Perth

Rediscover the confidence of a complete smile. Dental implants are one of the most natural ways to replace missing teeth, restoring your bite, your speech and your smile so you can eat, laugh and live without a second thought.

A small titanium post takes the place of the missing tooth’s root and supports a natural-looking crown, bridge or denture, with nothing that slips or comes out at night.

At Perth City Dental, our boutique practice in the heart of Perth’s CBD, we plan every step around you with honest advice and comfortable, personalised care.

Our Types of Dental Implants

The right solution depends on how many teeth you are missing and the health of your jaw. For failing or terminal teeth that cannot be saved, we can plan treatment alongside their removal.

Single Tooth Implant: a single implant topped with a custom crown fills the gap naturally, with no need to alter the healthy teeth on either side.

Implant Bridge: when several teeth are missing in a row, an implant bridge restores the whole area, anchored securely by implants rather than your natural teeth.

Implant-Supported Denture: if you have loose dentures that slip, implants hold them firmly in place and can also replace all your teeth with far more comfort than dentures.

How Much Do Dental Implants Cost?

Every smile is different, so there is no single price for dental implants. Your final cost depends on how many teeth you are replacing, the type of restoration, the health of your jaw and any preparatory treatment. Health fund cover can also make a difference.

You will always receive a clear, personalised quote at your consultation, so there are no surprises, and many patients find implants great value given how long they last.

What Are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is made up of three parts that work together to replace a missing tooth.

The implant itself is a titanium post placed into the jawbone, where it integrates naturally over time to act as a new tooth root. A small connector called an abutment sits above the gum, and on top we attach your custom-made crown, bridge or denture, matched to your natural teeth.

By restoring the root as well as the visible tooth, an implant helps maintain your jaw and facial structure and functions much like the tooth you lost.

Unlike dentures, implants are a fixed solution, so there is no need to take them out to eat or sleep.

Your Dental Implant Journey

Implants are carefully planned over several visits. Here is what to expect at each stage of your treatment.

Consultation

We examine the area, review your health and help determine whether implants are right for you.

Treatment Plan

We explain your options, timeframes and costs clearly before anything begins.

Implant Placement

Your implant is placed gently into the jaw, usually under local anaesthetic, working with trusted specialists.

Healing

The implant integrates with the bone, which often takes around three months or more.

Fitting Your New Tooth

We scan the implant and fit your custom crown, bridge or denture for a natural, comfortable result.

Aftercare

With proper care your implant can last for years, and serious complications are uncommon when treatment is well planned.

Frequently Asked Questions

You may find cheap implants overseas, but the materials used and the follow-up care will not be available once you are home. Sorting out any problems can require a lot of detective work and may cost you more in the end.

Our team is always happy to provide a detailed quote first.

With good care, a dental implant can last many years, often a lifetime for the post itself. The crown, bridge or denture on top may need replacing over time due to normal wear, much like any dental work.

Daily oral hygiene and regular check-ups give your implant the best chance of lasting.

There is no upper age limit for dental implants. Suitability depends on your general health, gum condition and jawbone density rather than your age, so many older patients make good candidates.

There is a lower limit, however, as implants are not suitable until jaw growth is complete, usually in the late teens or early twenties.

The first is a denture, a removable option you take out at night. The second is a bridge, which fills the gap by anchoring a false tooth to the healthy teeth on either side (see Crowns and Bridges).

The right choice comes down to your budget, the health of your surrounding teeth, and what feels right for you.

Most patients find implant treatment far more comfortable than they expected. The surgery is carried out under local anaesthetic, so you should not feel pain during the procedure.

Afterwards, any tenderness is usually mild and settles within a few days with simple pain relief.

Often, yes, though it depends on your level of cover. Many health funds include implants under major dental as part of their extras, so you may be able to claim back some of the cost. Annual limits and waiting periods can affect what you get back, so check with your fund first.

Results may vary. A consultation is required to assess individual suitability.
