Dr John Marsell

Dentist

John completed his secondary school certificate at Wesley College, Perth in 1990. He went on to complete a Certificate in Trade Studies in Dental Technology, having run his own dental laboratory until 2002. In 2003, John started his undergraduate degree in Dental Science at UWA, graduating with honours in 2007. John was also the Valedictorian for the 2007 graduating year for the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. In 2017, John completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Forensic Odontology at UWA.

John has always worked in private general practice. He has an interest in general dentistry with a focus on preventive and restorative dentistry. Building relationships with all of his patients is the primary goal for John, ensuring they are happy and confident with the dental treatment provided. John has also done voluntary work in Vietnam a number of times, treating underprivileged children in orphanages and with special needs, with the Christian Health Aid Team.

John balances his time between General Practice and Forensic Odontology. He is actively involved in Forensic Odontology, with a number of different roles, including being an on call consultant at Path West for active cases, Disaster Victim Identification training and availability, and also collaborates and works with WA Police for the National Missing Person and Victim System.

Outside of dentistry, John loves sport and hobbies. His main sports are Australian Rules Football, playing veterans football at Wembley Vets Football Club, of which Perth City Dental has been a long term sponsor. John also plays tennis pennants over the summer. He also has a love for fishing, snorkelling, boating, has a passion for international cuisines and mostly loves to share all of these experiences with his family.
